Quick q, the fees on my Q1 statement look higher than what we discussed at the annual review. Can you break that down?
Just pulled it up. Your blended fee came in at 87 bps because the alternatives sleeve carries a higher rate. It's fully disclosed in the wrap-fee brochure we signed in January.
Want me to send a written breakdown to your CPA as well?
Yes please. I thought it was a billing error. Appreciate you clarifying.

Off-channel communications

Off-channel communications capture and email archiving, in one system.

Off-channel communications are why the SEC has levied more than $2.3B in recordkeeping penalties since 2021. RegFin captures every off-channel channel (iMessage, WhatsApp, SMS) to WORM storage before anyone can delete it, then archives email from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace under the same Rule 204-2 retention.

Built for how your firm actually works

BYOD. Privacy-first. Boundary-aware.

The hardest part of message archiving isn't the storage. It's getting advisors to adopt it. RegFin solves the three reasons rollouts stall.

BYOD-friendly

Advisors keep their own phone and their own number. No corporate-issued device, no second line, no number porting. Onboarding takes under five minutes and works on iPhone and Android.

Historical backfill

In many cases, we can pull prior message history from before an advisor onboards, closing the audit gap from day one. Availability depends on your firm's setup; your RegFin specialist can walk through the options.

Selective capture

Spouse, family, the kids' soccer coach: none of it gets captured. Only conversations with client and prospect contacts flow into the archive. Advisor privacy and firm compliance, in the same product.

Supported channels

Every place an advisor might say something.

Capture is bidirectional, real-time, and survives device wipes and message deletion. Every channel below is captured natively. No carrier middleman.

Onboarded · personal threads excluded Capturing · business contacts only

BYOD & selective capture

Advisors keep their own phone and number. Onboard in minutes. Only business contacts are captured; personal threads are excluded automatically.

AI surveillance

The alert queue you'll actually finish reading.

Lexicon-based surveillance was built when "Friday lunch" sounded suspicious. RegFin's filter understands context: who's talking, what was discussed last quarter, whether the wrap-doc disclosure exists. It surfaces the alerts that matter, then defers to a human.

Nothing gets actioned on AI alone. Every escalation, dismissal, or note requires explicit advisor or CCO approval, and every decision is appended to the message's audit trail.

Examiner-grade retention

Stored once. Provable forever.

Every message gets the same evidence treatment a 10-K gets at a public company: sealed, hashed, immutable.

FAQ

The questions a CCO actually asks.

No. RegFin is BYOD-friendly on both iPhone and Android. Advisors keep their personal device and their existing phone number: no corporate phone, no second line, no number porting, no carrier changes. They complete a short onboarding flow and start capturing in under five minutes.
Only conversations with client and prospect contacts flow into the archive. The advisor's contact list is segmented during onboarding. Personal threads with spouse, family, friends, vendors, and service providers are excluded automatically and never leave the device. This is the boundary that makes BYOD viable: firm compliance and advisor privacy, in the same product.
In many cases, yes. Backfill availability depends on the channel and your firm's specific setup. Your RegFin specialist can assess what's possible during your demo and walk through the options for closing any audit gap from day one.
It means RegFin owns the product end to end: capture, storage, surveillance, search, and exam production. We're not reselling someone else's archive with our logo on it. If something goes wrong, you call us, not a vendor we'd have to call on your behalf with a 10-business-day SLA.
Messages are sealed in WORM storage at the moment of capture, before any deletion attempt can propagate. WhatsApp's "delete for everyone," iMessage edits, and SMS delete-on-device all leave the retained record intact. The audit trail also notes the deletion attempt, which is itself a flag-worthy event under our surveillance rules.
Context. The model sees the full thread, the advisor-client relationship history, the disclosure documents on file, and the surveillance policy your CCO configured. A "fee complaint" alert won't fire when the wrap-doc was acknowledged last month and the message references that exact disclosure. Every alert includes a citation to the documents and rules it weighed, auditable end to end. And no alert is auto-actioned; a human approves every state change.
Yes. RegFin's archive is designed to meet SEC Rule 204-2 (books and records for RIAs), including §204-2(a)(7) for written communications, SEC Rule 17a-4 for broker-dealer affiliates, and FINRA Rule 4511 for general books and records. Our retention defaults are 7 years; we keep your evidence packs sealed for longer if your fund or BD affiliation requires it. Audit reports available under NDA.
Not for BYOD, and we'd never ask advisors to install a management profile on a personal phone. Capture happens at the platform level, not the device level, so advisors keep full control of their phone and your firm gets compliant archiving without the enrollment fight that kills every other rollout. For firms that issue company-owned devices, we do offer an MDM profile option that captures all threads on the managed device. No contact segmentation needed.
Yes. Content deployed from the Approved Content Library is automatically archived with full provenance: the original approved version, any customizations, the deployment channel, and the audience it was sent to. The same WORM seal applies, and the archive entry links back to the marketing review that originally approved the content.
